Dr. Elijah Kiarie
Assistant Professor, University of Guelph
He is a monogastric nutrition scientist with over a 10-year record of research accomplishment in gut health and function. His research contributed to the adoption of new practices on farms in Canada and elsewhere and has earned him several awards including the US-National Pork Board award for innovation in research and a record of 5 patent co-applications on innovative solutions for improving gut health and function in monogastric animals.
Dr. Joey Jai-Wei Lee
Professor, Department of Tropical Agriculture and International Cooperation, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology
Dr. Joey Jai-Wei Lee has enjoyed building a strong career as researcher, professor and leading voice helping to address some of the top challenges and opportunities for animal agriculture, particularly in Southeast Asia. Joey is a Professor in the Department of Tropical Agriculture and International Cooperation at National Pingtung University of Science and Technology in Taiwan. His research focuses on animal science and veterinary medicine – and importantly has included strong work examining the potential of feed technology innovations. He began his studies in Taiwan, completing a B. Sc. in animal science at National Chung Ching University, Taiwan, before moving to Canada to complete an M. Sc. and then Ph. D., both in animal science, at McGill University in Montreal.
